High Grade Intersections at Lanfranchi Nickel Mine 22.4 Metres of 6.24% Ni

June 27, 2006

Vancouver, B.C. - Brilliant Mining Corp. (BMC:TSXV) ("Brilliant") is pleased to announce the results for the twelve-hole diamond drill program recently completed at  the Winner orebody, which is a near-surface high-grade shoot of massive sulphide mineralisation located up-dip of the Schmitz orebody at the Lanfranchi Nickel Mine, Tramways Tenements, Western Australia.

  • Twelve hole resource definition drill program completed on Winner orebody
  • Best intersections are 22.35 metres at 6.18% Ni and 16.75 metres at 5.82% Ni
  • Work has commenced to update the ore reserve, mine plan and economic analysis of the Winner orebody
  • Development of Winner would add significant Ni production to the Lanfranchi Nickel Mine

This definition drill program was designed to further delineate the Winner resource in preparation for a detailed mining and financial evaluation of the ore body.  All drill holes were drilled vertically from surface, intersecting the shallowly plunging Winner massive nickel sulphide shoot (and/or host basalt surface) between 120 metres and 220 metres below the surface.  Significant results include 22.35 metres at 6.24% Ni and 16.75m at 5.82% Ni, with all results for the 2006 Winner definition drill program summarised in Table 1.

Winner Production Plans

The 2006 Winner resource definition drill program has confirmed that the Winner ore body is a shallowly plunging shoot of massive high-grade nickel sulphide mineralisation. The mineralisation extends continuously over a length of approximately 150 metres between a depth of 150 metres and 250 metres below the surface.  Work has now commenced on incorporating these latest drill results into a new resource model for Winner; followed by a detailed mine plan, updated ore reserve estimate and financial analysis.  It is anticipated that this work will be performed during Q3, 2006 and if the outcome is positive, could result in development of the Winner ore body commencing as early as 2007, subject to the Lanfranchi JV's determination to proceed.

The previous Indicated and Inferred Resource estimate for Winner was 89,000 tonnes grading 4.6% Ni and 13,000 tonnes grading 3.6% Ni respectively as reported in the National Instrument 43-101 compliant technical report ("Technical Report") dated March 17, 2006 prepared by Golder Associates Pty. Ltd.  The Technical Report further defined a Probable Mineral Reserve at Winner totaling 98,800 tonnes grading 4.0%.  The Technical Report can be viewed on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

The project is supervised by John Williamson, PGeol, of Edmonton, Alberta, CEO and a Director of Brilliant, and is the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
